Studying the effects of sense of belonging to virtual communities in psychological well-being and adjustment to academic setting

The literature has shown a direct relationship between the psychological sense of belonging with well-being and academic involvement in physical communities. However, new technologies have favored formation communities cyberspace, scarce research at university level addressing their impact. For this reason, an ex post facto study been designed aim knowing to virtual well-being, involvement, satisfaction, perception justice outcomes. In addition, possible influence gender factor was considered. 1,035 undergraduate students from Spanish universities responded Scale Psychological Sense Community Virtual Groups (SCGV), Well-being (EBP) ad hoc instrument measure satisfaction results revealed that successful is related greater subjective, economic while increasing participation, Moreover, also found, as it women differences participation men women. implications are discussed terms benefits for integration
